I don’t give a lot of thought to laundry detergent. Someone asked me if I was going to use Dreft for Mike’s clothes when he was born which left this first time Muddling Momma confused – does that mean I have to wash his clothes separate from ours? Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I try to go all natural with cleaning products when I can, but you always read somewhere that they aren’t as ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ as they seem. Which led me to Nellie’s All Natural. For years I have used other organic, grocery store friendly, brands and they did okay – but even the non-scented had a scent. The first thing I noticed about Nellie’s (after the super cute tin container) was the lack of scent. Maybe I don’t want to smell like a tropical rain-forest after a thunderstorm or a beach on a humid summer day.

I am really impressed that Nellie’s Laundry Soda has practically nothing in it yet still does a great job getting clothes clean. . I am not even sure what SLS or SLES are, but who cares? It isn’t in Nellie’s All-Natrual.

  • Hypoallergenic
  • Gluten Free
  • No SLS or SLES
  • No GMO’s
  • Chlorine Free
  • Phosphate Free
  • No animal testing (Leaping Bunny Certified)

After a few ‘trial’ washes, our clothes were clean, stains were gone, no one smelled like a Caribbean thunderstorm. Also, no one got weird rashes. Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda  has a fan for life!

Nellie’s All Naturals and I teamed up and we are giving away a tin of Laundry Soda. It’s really easy – just comment on this blog and tell me where your clothes get dirtiest. A commenter will be picked at random on Friday, October 3rd.

And we have a winner! Thanks everyone for your sharing your messiest adventures.

Yep, you guessed it. This post is sponsored. They might have offered the product, but I offered my honest opinion. This post also might have affiliate links. I might get a small kick back, nothing that will let me quit my day job and nothing that will raise the price for you. You’ve been warned.

  1. SLS/SLES just refers to the chemical agents that cause the detergent to foam up, I believe. I actually just bought the ingredients to make my own – it’s like three items plus the five gallon bucket to put it in. I’m excited to see how it turns out.

  2. More like my kids clothes get the dirtiest at the park and at home when they play with crayons and markers! My husband welds, so anything to get that smell and dirt out is great. As for me, the smell of airports is where I get the dirtiest when not dealing with my kids!

  3. Where do my clothes get the dirtiest? I have 2 children and care for another 2 Fulltime. So we do A LOT of laundry around here 😉

  4. So far, it’s my husband’s work clothes that get concrete and dust. Baby is due in December so things will be changing then!

  5. Clothing gets the dirtiest in the kitchen. Also, love Nellie’s and need a new tin. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. Our clothes get dirtiest when we go mountain biking!! We especially love going in the rain and getting all muddy! 🙂

  7. Our clothes get the dirtiest at the farm. The man works in pig manure management. That about says it all. And I’m famous for spilling green tea and/or coffee on the drive to work.

  8. Hi Muddling Momma! Thanks for the review 🙂 i have been really really loving Nellie’s Laundry Soda haha I use with my baby’s cloth diapers and everything else!

Here’s my answer to your question: my clothes get dirtiest on the back of my shoulder! Because my cute little one pukes on it (when I try to bulp her) three to four times a day. Hahaha! I cant even get over how cute he is even when he pukes on my shirt.

    Thank you!

  9. We live on 7 acres and mow and tend to about half of it. Five large flower beds and a huge garden…..yup the clothes get dirty. Nellie’s gets them cleaner than any other product I have used.

  10. Okay, I just read the other comments and I am obviously ESL student and I didn’t understand your question correctly last time 🙁 … i guess my answer will be my clothes get the dirtiest in my house 🙂 my baby is only 2 months old so I dont get to go out alot yet 🙂

  11. Baby’s clothes get dirtiest at the dinner table. Learning to eat finger foods is a messy business.

  12. My clothes get the dirtiest when I am mucking about in my vegetable garden. It’s harvest time & being dirty is paying off in my veggie bounty! Thanks for the chance to win this great soap.

  13. Our clothes get the dirtiest the second we put them on our sweet daughter. she is a mess waiting to happen. My motto is that she was clean when we started but we often times find ourselves changing her clothes three and four times a day. She is four and I can only imagine what her clothes will look like when she starts school next year. I am terrified. We use Nellies already because of severe skin allergies in our home. My daughter (who has special needs) cannot use anything that would have anything in it. I have tried the “free” products in the grocery aisle but to no avail. Her clothes are washed seperately from ours and the only thing that goes on her is Nellies. We love this product!

  14. My husband gets his the dirtiest on his job. He works to repair sewer lines and comes home very dirty and smelly !!

  15. my sons onsies! he crawls all over the place and even though i clean my floors they still manage to get so dirty! lol
